A sustainable strategy based on agroecology and innovation
Since 2010, under the leadership of Antoine Vajou, Ferme de Fontenay has focused on the environment and agroecology throughout the value chain, from growing to packaging.
To meet the expectations of our customers and consumers, we place continuous improvement and innovation at the heart of our strategy.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities
Since 2019, Ferme de Fontenay has had the PME+ label
for responsible SMEs.
Through our CSR actions, we are committed to preserving the environment, putting people at the heart of our company,
and promoting local employment and solidarity.
Our CSR objectives
Our vision is embodied in 3 objectives:
- To produce and package quality products in line with our CSR policy
- To protect the environment and reduce our environmental impact
- To ensure the well-being and safety of our employees at work
Quality, Safety and Environment policy
Our policy aims to meet our CSR objectives by focusing on four areas:
#1 Customer and consumer satisfaction
- Quality products packaged with respect for food safety, thanks to a food safety culture, high-performance industrial equipment and IFS Food certification
- Organic, zero pesticide residue, HVE, etc. certifications to meet the expectations of our customers and consumers
- Transparency of our product traceability for consumers thanks to blockchain technology
#2 Supporting our producers
- Comprehensive support, with our team monitoring production (supplies of seeds, technical advice, etc.)
- Commitment from everyone to protecting the environment and biodiversity: compliance with good agricultural practices and specifications (limited use of pesticides, efficient use of water and fertiliser use that meets the needs of the plant)
#3 Reducing our environmental impact
- Reducing our energy costs by installing solar panels on our buildings, enabling us to produce 80% of the energy we need ourselves
- Contributing to carbon neutrality by reducing our GHG emissions
- Turning organic waste into biogas through anaerobic digestion
- A condensation drying and cooling system for faster and more consistent cooling of our products in our storage areas
#4 Integrity and people at the heart of our decisions
- Employing a skilled workforce and being involved in community life
- Involving service providers, suppliers and local players in our CSR approach
- Applying a rigorous health and safety policy in the workplace
