French producer of onions, garlic, shallots and banana shallots
Producer,

Ferme de Fontenay is a farm with its roots in the clay-limestone soil of western Champagne. It has been owned by the Vajou family for more than four generations.
70% of the land farmed is in Champagne-Ardenne and 30% in Ile-de-France. Producing 50% of its produce itself and drawing on the expertise of 25 partner growers, Ferme de Fontenay does everything it can to offer top-quality onions, shallots, banana shallots and garlic to its supermarket, food service and export customers.
It is one of France's leading producers and marketers of fresh condiments.
From field to shop
At Ferme de Fontenay, we are committed to managing every stage of production ourselves, from growing our produce in the fields to packing it. Find out how we ensure the quality and freshness of our products at every stage of the process.
Responsible farming
"As I manage the entire process from field to plate, I attach great importance to food safety, respect for the environment and the application of good agricultural practices.
As well as using new technologies, over the last fifteen years or so I have focused on the environment and agroecology.
As a farmer, I'm very attached to my region, and that's why my team and I are doing everything we can to reduce our carbon footprint, both in terms of agricultural production and packaging."

Our story
Our story is the story of the Vajou family, farmers in Aube for four generations, proud of our roots and our land.
1924
The family adventure begins!
It all began in 1924. Marcel Adam started farming at Ferme de Fontenay, opposite the church in Fontenay-de-Bossery. He mainly grew cereals. This was the start of the Ferme de Fontenay! His son-in-law, Jean Vajou, took over the farm in 1960 and diversified from cereals into sugar beet.
His sons Jacques and Francis joined the business in 1970, followed by Pascal in 1984.
It was the start of a family adventure!
Our team
"We're a family-run company, and to us the atmosphere and relationships at work are paramount. Employees are the heart of the company.
Ferme de Fontenay's development is thanks to the people working on the farm and on the packing site each day.
They are constantly learning new techniques and know how to take account of current and future standards to ensure consistent production quality.
I'm proud of my team, composed of motivated, passionate permanent staff who hold themselves to high standards, who I can always count on and who will give their very best to produce an excellent product that reflects our expertise."
